10-year-old dies as 800 years old dome of Jama Masjid collapsed
One of the three domes of Jama Masjid collapsed on Thursday evening, killing a 10-year-old boy and badly injuring two, the head priest of the mosque said on Friday. The mosque is about 800 years old.
The boys, who were playing in a lane near the mosque, were buried in the debris when the dome collapsed at about 4 pm yesterday.
A huge crowd gathered at the spot that led to a delay in the rescue operations, said head priest Zainul Abideen.
Saad was killed on the way to Delhi for treatment, the other two were seriously injured and were being treated at the District Hospital here.
