108 Hindu migrant refugees from Pakistan receive Indian citizenship
A total of 108 migrants from Pakistan received Indian citizenship in Rajasthan on Sunday. The citizenship certificates were distributed from Jodhpur District collector Ravi Kumar Surpur to the 108 migrants. They were handed over the certificates at the Town Hall in Rajasthan. After they received the certificates, slogans such as 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' were heard in the hall. Hindu Singh Soda, President of Seemant Lok Sangathan who has played an active role in highlighting the plight of the migrants, said directions to give them citizenship was issued way back in December 2016. Around 6,000 people were still awaiting Indian citizenship. -PTC News
