12-year-old raped by former tenant in Amritsar, Punjab A 12-year-old girl was raped by a youth in Hussainpura, Amritsar. The accused, Sikander was a former tenant of the complainant’s grandmother. The 12 year old victim has been living with her grandmother since the demise of her parents.The victim alleged that the accused had been raping her for the past several days. The incident came to light when the victim told about it to her friend who later informed her mother. Her mother then informed the grandmother of the victim. Victim’s grandmother has kept several families as tenants at her house for making her both ends meet. Sikander who used to live on rent at the house, his brother is presently residing in the same accommodation. The police said a case was registered and her medical examination would be conducted tomorrow. -PTC News
