4kg heroin recovered from Indo-Pak border in Amritsar 4kg heroin and 100gm of opium were seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the counter-intelligence wing of the Punjab Police from the India-Pakistan border here on Wednesday. The heroin was packed in nine packets and was worth around Rs20 crore in the international market, as per official reports. Commandant of 17 Battalion of the BSF, RC Sharma, said, “The contraband was recovered during a joint search operation launched at about 12.35pm on a tip-off some smuggling activity. The packets were found lying near the border. One packet of opium (weighing approximately 100 gm) was buried in a near the border security fence.” However, no drug smuggler was detected in the area. -PTC News
