800 Government Schools to Merge in Punjab, 140 in Hoshiarpur
In a major decision, The Punjab Government has decided to merge 800 government schools in the state. The highest number of schools are being merged in Hoshiarpur district alone, which counts to 140, whereas district Gurdaspur has been number two in this case.
Speaking on this matter, Mr. Khaira said that this is totally absurd and we couldnt have thought of such a step being taken by the government. He said that the needy children would have to spend several kilometers and go to school, which would increase their burden and of the families too.
Here is a list of Schools to be merged-
Amritsar 30, Bathinda 3, Barnala 3, Faridkot 5, Firozpur 22, Fazilka 4, Fatehgarh sahib 41, Gurdaspur 133, Hoshiarpur 130, Jalandhar 54, Kapurthala 41, Ludhiana 39, Moga 7, Mansa 4, Muktsar 1, Patiala 50, Pathankot 52, Ropar 71, Sangrur 23, SAS Nagar 30, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar 34, Tarantaran 9.
He said that against this decision, "AAP" would stage a protest outside the schools.
