Ahead of Shahkot bypoll, Aam Aadmi party and Congress in Punjab are witnessing major jolts as their leaders are showing confidence and trust in Shiromani Akali Dal. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday suffered a massive blow ahead of the Shahkot bypoll on May 28 with its leader from Adampur, Hans Raj Rana joining the Shiromani Akali Dal. Jolt to Aam Aadmi Party: AAP leader Hans Raj Rana joins Shiromani Akali Dal The SAD president said the manner in which both the Congress and the AAP leaders were joining the SAD was indicative of the functioning of the Congress government as well as complete disillusionment with the Aam Aadmi Party. 'People are joining Opposition party instead of the ruling party, it in itself is evident that people are sick of fake promises of Congress in Punjab within a short span of time,' said SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal. Walia said he was joining the SAD due to its “pro-people” policies as well as the party’s desire to take all sections of society with it. “I earlier joined AAP because it professed idealism. However I slowly realised that the party had become thoroughly corrupt and was not concerned about Punjabis and their problems. Moreover, AAP is being run from Delhi by Arvind Kejriwal who does not give any weightage to the local leadership,” Walia alleged. -PTC News
