Act against Khaira if you consider him ‘Member of International Drug Cartel’ SAD asks Congress Govt
The Shiromani Akali Dal today asked the Punjab government to act against Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira if it considers him ‘a member of International Drug Cartel’.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa National Spokesman of the party said that it was most strange to see that the Punjab Government has filed an affidavit in Fazilka court declaring Khaira as ‘member of International Drug cartel’ but was reluctant to act against him for unknown reasons.
He said that when the government is convinced of his role and he being a member of the said cartel then the government was duty bound to act against a criminal who is also accused in drug smuggling case.
Mr Sirsa said that the temporary relief which the Supreme Court had granted to Khaira was only on summoning issue and there is no bar on taking action against a drug smuggler and supplier which is clear when the government has admitted on his role of being a member of the cartel.
He said that if the government is reluctant to act against him then it shown that the Congress party is hand in glove with the AAP and its leader and is also a party on damaging the life of youth of Punjab with the supply of drugs.
Lashing out at AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal for not acting against Khaira when he has become an accused in drug smuggling case, Mr. Sirsa said that silence of Kejriwal on Khaira issue is intriguing as he always make hue and cry on petty issues but is silent on a serious charge of drug smuggling leveled against his own party MLA who he has given Constitutional post of Leader of opposition.
He said that it seems that Kejriwal who is himself mired in corruption controversies is silent on action against Khaira out of fear that if he will take action against him, Khaira in return will expose corruption allegations against him and his family.
