Amritsar lass Anupreet becomes ace commercial pilot

With 200 hours’ flying experience under her belt, Amritsari girl Anupreet Kaur has accomplished her dream of becoming a commercial pilot. Her village was close to Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport, watching airplanes flying from the top of her house as a kid, she was inspired to fly a plane one day. Born in a village, this young girl always had dreams to touch the sky.  Amritsar lass Anupreet becomes ace commercial pilot After passing out her senior secondary examination in the non-medical stream from Holy Heart Presidency School in 2011, she took admission in Aviation Club at Amritsar airport to learn flying. “I invested the next five years in learning how to handle flying machines”, she said. She got her first break in September 2016 when she was finally selected for Jet Airways. “Since then, I have been flying on domestic and international routes”. She was thankful to her parents, Jagtar Singh and Paramjit Kaur, for supporting her in achieving her childhood dream. “Although, flying planes is a challenging job, it provides her with an unforgettable experience”. On girls taking up flying, she said the profession offered immense opportunities to girls and they could carve out an exciting and a long-term career in the field. She advised the prospective female pilots to put in their whole- hearted efforts and work day in and out to realize the dream of becoming who they want to.  Anupreet Kaur’s parents said they were content their daughter had adopted the professional career she had wished for in her childhood. They were all the support she needed in realising her dream. -PTC News
