Justice Dhingra to head new SIT formed to probe 186 cases related to Anti-Sikh Riots

Anti-Sikh riots 1984: Justice Dhingra to head new SIT formed. On the orders of Supreme court of India, a new Special  Investigation Team (SIT ) has been formed to probe 186 cases of massacre of Sikhs in November, 1984. Justice S N Dhingra, retired as Judge from Delhi HC will be heading the SIT. Anti-Sikh riots 1984: Justice Dhingra to head new SIT formed The other two members of the SIT are retired IPS officers Rajdip Singh and Abhishek Dular. SC has directed the team to submit its first interim report on March 19, 2018. Advocate H S Phoolka has welcomed the formation of the SIT and expressed full faith in it. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court decision to order a fresh probe, by a new SIT, into 186 cases of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, where he also told Sajjan Kumar and Dharamdas Shastri’s role in Anti- Sikh riots.  -PTC News
