Bringing foreign liquor in Punjab a non-bailable offence
As per the Punjab Cabinet, bringing foreign liquor into Punjab in quantities exceeding twelve bottles of 750 mm each will now be considered non-bailable offence. The same was decided in a meeting of the cabinet on Wednesday. Alcohol is cheaper in bordering states than in Punjab due to less excise duty. People from other states like- Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal and others wherein smuggle alcohol in bulk. In order to stop the same, the cabinet has taken a decision in order to over rule smuggling. -PTC News
