Captain Amarinder Released Rs. 469 Crore For Pending Payments & Development Projects The Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government released Rs. 469 crore for pending payments for various schemes and development projects on Monday and also to clear the entire pendency of VAT/GST refunds in the state treasury.  This move was to give a boost to its development agenda. The funds released on Monday were sanctioned to Local Government and Education departments, as well as pending Social Security Pensions. A spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the funds were released on the direction of the Chief Minister. They aim to speed up the pace of development in these key areas. Out of Rs. 469 crore, Rs.188 crore was sanctioned to the Local Government Department for the execution of its ongoing projects. And, Rs.138 crore was sanctioned to Social Security Pensions for various categories of beneficiaries. The spokesperson also said that Rs.77 crore has been sanctioned to Education Department under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Mid Day Meal (MDM) schemes. The Spokesperson also added that the government has also released refunds on account of VAT worth Rs.62 crore and GST for Rs.4 crore, thus clearing its entire pendency in the treasury. -PTC News-
