Chandigarh Stalking Case: Haryana BJP leader plans a conference to divert media. After Vikas, accused had refused to appear in the Sector 26 police station, later today his father, Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala said they would cooperate.
With effect to which, Vikas visited the police station as summon asked him to, later today.
As Vikas visited the station, the BJP leader kept a press conference in Chandigarh. He left the conference in the middle and walked out, after a phone call.
As per reports, the press conference was planned to divert and distract the attention of media from his son, while he was in the police station.
The Chandigarh Police has asked Vikas to appear before the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector-26 Police Station at 11 a.m. ‘sharp' on Wednesday. However, Vikas failed. Both the accused had also refused to give urine and blood samples for investigation, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tajender Singh Luthra said.
The notice being issued under 160 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the case has been filed against Barala under Section 354D (stalking), 341 (wrongful restraint), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 185 MV Act (rash driving).
In a comment the Congress has accused the BJP of hatching conspiracy and pressurising the Chandigarh administration to protect the son of the Haryana BJP chief. To which Subhash Barala refused.
