Chandigarh Stalking Case: Varnika Kundu faced 500 questions: Disc jockey Varnika Kundu on Monday faced 500 questions for nearly five hours during a marathon court hearing in the high-profile stalking case in which Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala's son Vikas is the main accused.
The cross-questioning of IAS officer V S Kundu's daughter revealed her car had broken down a day before the incident, on August 3, and she was dropped the next day in Sector 8 to pick up her vehicle at 11.15pm, more than an hour before Barala and his friend Ashish allegedly began to chase her in their car.
The counsel for Vikas Barala, who is accused of stalking a woman in Chandigarh in August 2017, on Monday claimed she was in Ropar district – about 50 km away – an hour before the incident occurred.
Varnika was in Ropar an hour before the incident occurred, came across as a major question during the cross-examination.
Varnika Kundu denied the claim. "I was never in Ropar." she said.
Taking it to a social media site, Facebook, Varnika explains how Cross examination felt like a school exam and how difficult it was to go through 100s of questions.
"They tried to be nice, then aggressive, then intimidate me with a barrage of their so-called supporters, then try to twist my words around, and even made attempts to drag my personal life into this," she wrote.
In the end she mocked the questions and allegations by saying, The location on this Facebook post is correct.
