CM BADAL CONDOLES SAD AND TRAGIC DEMISE OF SEPOY GURSEWAK SINGH, WHO ATTAINED MARTYRDOM DURING CROSS BORDER FIRING IN J&K

Chandigarh, November 7- Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad and untimely demise of Sepoy Gursewak Singh of  Warana village in Tarn Taran district, who attained martyrdom during cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir. In a condolence message the Chief Minister said that the entire country was highly indebted to this brave heart for laying down his life for safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. Mr. Badal said that this brave son of the soil has upheld the glorious traditions of self sacrifice and valour inherited from our great martyrs and patriots, who made supreme sacrifices for the sake of our country since times immemorial. He said every Punjabi was proud over the gallantry deed of this valiant son of motherland. Sharing his heartfelt condolences with the members of the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty  to give courage to bear this huge loss in this hour of crisis and grant eternal peace to the departed soul. Consoling the grief stricken family, Mr. Badal said that they should feel proud on the gallantry deeds of this great son of soil, who sacrificed his life to protect the honour and dignity of the country. Meanwhile, the Punjab Government announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs. Five lac and Rs. Five lac in lieu of a plot, besides a government job to the next of the kin of the martyr as a humble tribute.
