Cop booked on rape and molestation charge
A cop posted at Guhla in Kaithal district was booked today on charges of rape, molestation and under POCSO Act, police said.
A woman of a colony here in her complaint to police has alleged that she had met the ASI in connection with some case a few years ago.
The official continued to visit her house and during the last over two years raped her repeatedly, the woman alleged.
One day the ASI came to her residence and molested her 14-year-old daughter also, she alleged.
When she resisted, he threatened to implicate her in a case, she alleged.
The Assistant Superintendent of police had been booked under section 376, 354 and under the POCSO Act, the police said adding investigations have begun in the case.
When contacted, SP Astha Modi said as the charges against the policeman were of serious nature, he has been put under suspension.
Police have got the statements of both the victims recorded before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Madhulika here today and the victims were medically examined at the civil hospital here. PTI
