All liquor vends in Delhi have been directed by the Delhi Government to ensure Liquor sale through scanning from February onwards, officials said. Directives have been issued to all liquor vends in the city by the excise department, warning them of strict action if alcohol is sold without scanning bar codes after February 15. The move came into force aiming at plugging tax loopholes. Delhi: Liquor sale without scanning of barcode to invite action after Feb 15 “All the incharge of liquor vendors have been directed to put their system in place to ensure 100 per cent Liquor sale through scanning in Delhi after February 15," another senior government official said. “After February 15, excise department's teams will visit vends to check whether the order of Liquor sale is being followed. If they (liquor vends) fail to comply, strict action, including cancellation of licence, can be taken against them,” the official said. -PTC News-
