Delhi to Mumbai by road in 12 hours through a new expressway The government is planning to build a new expressway connecting Gurgaon with the country's business capital Mumbai, which will cut the travel time by nearly 12 hours, highways minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday. According to a reports, the expressway will be built in three years and will connect two districts - Mewat in Haryana and Dahod in Gujarat. The project which will cost around Rs 60,000 crore, will reduce the existing distance of 1,450 km between Delhi and Mumbai by road to about 1,250 km, as per official report.. Currently, it takes at least 24 hours to cover the stretch between Delhi and Mumbai on NH-8. After the completion of the new expressway, the travel time between Delhi to Mumbai will come down by about 12 hours, the report further said. Speaking at a TOI event, “Give Gurgaon its Due”, Gadkari said work on this stretch would start by December and be completed in three years. The expressway will begin from Gurgaon’s Rajiv Chowk.-
