DSGMC to organise National Conclave on Martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzaade

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is organizing a National Conclave on martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzaade on January 16th at Vigyan Bhawan Delhi. Disclosing this in a statement released here today, the DSGMC President Mr. Manjit Singh GK and General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa disclosed that it is for the first time that such a magnum scale event is held to make the world awareabout the sacrifices made by Chaar Sahibzaade for humanity and integrity of faith. In this programme Union Minister Mrs Smriti Zubin Irani and Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Mr. Rajat Sharma Chairman and Editor in Chief of India TV will be will be Chief Guest. They further informed that Member Parliament S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra and Sh. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, former MP and ex-Chairman National Minorities Commission Mr. Tarlochan Singh and former VC of Punjabi University Dr. Jaspal Singh will be a distinguished guest on the occasion. Mr. Manjit Singh GK said that there is no parallel in the history of the supreme sacrifice made by four Sahibzadaas of tenth Sikh Gugu Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said that at a tender age these four sahibzadaas preferred their sacrifice for saving the humanity and the nation from the tyranny of the Mughal rulers and even did not compromised on any of the terms of the Mughal rulers. Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that such supreme sacrifice needs to be taught to our young generation of the country. He said that children should know how daring, courageous and spirited were these sahibzadaas who gave up their lives for the sake of humanity. He said that it was most unfortunate that till date different governments have not emphasized on including a lesson on sacrifice of these sahibzadaas in school syllabus but now a new beginning has been made and he was hopeful that in near future all the state education boards will follow NCERT which has agreed to include history of these sahibzadaas in the syllabus. Both the leaders further said that this national conclave will also contribute a lot to educating our youth and younger generation on the significance of the supreme sacrifice of these four sahibzadaas for the nation. The hoped that this initiative will turn into a full-fledged campaign for educating our next generation. -PTC News
