Major shock to Congress as Former Home Minister and Congress leader Brij Bhupinder Lally joins Shiromani Akali Dal on Friday morning. The decision was made in presence of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal at Kang Village (Lohian). Former Home Minister and Congress leader Brij Bhupinder Lally joins Shiromani Akali Dal It has come across as a major shock to Congress in Punjab ahead of Shahkot by poll that are scheduled for 28 May. Naib Singh Kohar, son of late ex-minister Ajit S Kohar is the official candidate of SAD. Shahkot is all set to witness a tough fight between the ruling Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Both the parties are eyeing to win the bye-election and build a momentum for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Six companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed at booths on May 28 to ensure peaceful, free and fair polling. In order to ensure 100 per cent attendance of the polling staff for the rehearsal of bye-elections on the coming Sunday, Deputy Commissioner has ordered to ensure complete videography of the rehearsals. -PTC News-
