Haryana schools to remain closed till January 14 due to cold wave: The schools in Haryana will remain closed till January 14 following the harsh cold wave. It was announced in a notice passed by Haryana Government. It is noticeable that dense fog and poor visibility is witnessed affecting rail, road and air traffic resulting in disrupting normal life. Ram Bilas Sharma, Education Minister said that all government, government-aided and private schools will remain closed up to January 14 due to dense fog. As per schedule, schools were to re-open after the winter break on January 8. Haryana schools to remain closed till January 14 due to cold wave Narnaul and Hisar in Haryana saw minimum temperatures of 1.5 degrees and 2.4 degrees. Karnal and Bhiwani recorded lows of 4.5 and 4.6 degrees respectively. On the other hand, Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees while Ludhiana registered a low of 4.4 degrees. The maximum temperatures at most places in Haryana and Punjab remained between 18.5 and 22.5 degrees. Chandigarh recorded high of 19.4 degrees and a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees. -PTC News
