HC sets aside appointment of Punjab chief principal secretary Suresh Kumar
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday set aside the appointment of Suresh Kumar, chief principal secretary, Punjab. The court of Justice Rajan Gupta said he was holding the post in violation of Article 166(3) of the Constitution. The appointment of Suresh Kumar had come under judicial scanner after a petition was filed by advocate Ramandeep Singh through counsel HS Brar. The appointment was challenged on the grounds that it was against the Constitutional scheme and accepted norms. AG Punjab Atul Nanda said he would further comment after reading the judgement.
