Humble Khichdi of India now a Global Name: Harsimrat Kaur Badal

It's done, set and certified. World record attempted, achieved and certified! I thank the almighty on Gurpurab for being so kind to us, the humble khichdi of India is now becoming a global name she said. It's the intention with what we started, of doubling farmers income and what better than the seven ancient grains of India coming together to make Khichdi, she added. The khichdi was cooked in a custom-made kadhai (wok) in front of a live audience at the World Food India 2017. A giant kadhai of 7-feet in diameter, with the capacity to hold 1,000 litres is being used As per an official statement by the government, Brand India Khichdi’s ingredients and the recipe will be popularised by Indian Foreign Missions throughout the world. The statement further added that the government will ensure that khichdi is available in restaurants and kitchens around the world. Numerous foreign dignitaries and ambassadors witnessed the world record being set at the Great Indian Food Street Hangar at India Gate Lawns. Considering the world-record has been achieved on the auspicious day of Gurupurab, Khichdi is also being distributed to people in slum areas in identified regions in Delhi. -PTC News
