In the last but one battle for the gold medal, defending champions India and the hosts, South Korea, shared points to end their round robin engagements with clean slates in the 5th Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for Women at Donghae on Saturday.
The two teams will now fight it out for the title tomorrow.

In a game of fluctuating fortunes, both teams were cautious in preserving their energies for the gold medal match as the outcome of the game was immaterial for either of the teams.

The South Koreans, who had lost home series to India 1-3 a couple of months ago, were a determined side playing to a strategy marking Indian forwards - Navneet and Vandana Katariya - very well besides countering penalty corner attempts by Gurjit kaur.

Though both the goals of the game came from penalty corners - first by Koreans in the  20th minute when Seoul Ki Cheon surprised the Indian defence with a neat flick. Though the Koreans managed to find the net from the second penalty corner also in the  25th minute but it was disallowed because of an infringement to the great relief of Indians.
Trailing 0-1 at the breather, Indian girls did try to dominate proceedings against cautious Koreans but wayward shooting and some loose passes prevented them from restoring parity till the  46th minute in the final quarter. From the third penalty corner awards after Gurjit's flick had been padded by the Korean custodian, Lalremsiami made no mistake by punishing the rebound with a flick into the net.

Korea did force a penalty corner, seven minutes from the final whistle, but without causing any damage.

Now all the eyes are set for the gold medal match tomorrow.
