Indian American killed during crossfire at U.S. motel

Memphis: A 56-year-old Indian American man was reportedly gunned down while standing on the balcony of his second floor flat in Memphis, Tennessee. Khandu Patel, who was a housekeeper at the Best Value Inn and was also staying there temporarily with his wife and son, succumbed to his injuries after getting caught in a crossfire at the motel in Whitehaven, local media reports said. This is the fifth incident of an Indian American getting killed in the United States since Donald Trump took oath as the 45th U.S. President. Local police believe there was a shootout between unknown individuals and Khandu was hit by a stray bullet. Police are looking for two suspects, one of whom was wearing all black clothing and the other had a white hoodie. Police have offered reward for those providing information about Patel's killers. —ANI
