International Langar Week celebrated by Tanamnjeet Singh Dhesi

Sikh community around the world is known for its selfless service to humanity. Be it a calamity or a natural disaster, when it comes to helping the needy, Sikhs are always at the forefront like warriors fighting against all odds with kindness. It is a well known fact in India that Sikh Gurudwaras across the globe offer free meals (called langar).To apprise the general public about Langar, Tanamnjeet Singh Dhesi opened up a public invitation to all to sit with him for langar at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha – Slough today. Tanamnjeet Singh Dhesi is a British politician from the Labour party who also happens to be the first turbaned Sikh MP in UK. https://twitter.com/TanDhesi/status/916337455867072515 Tanmanjeet Singh also took to twitter to express his gratitude for hosting the event as a part of Langar Week. This is to be noted that the ‘Langar Week’ event will be held from 2nd October till 8th October at Singh Sabha Gurudwara, Sheehy Way, Slough. TanmanJeet Singh Volunteer Gizmo Singh said: "Langar is free food and it is a communal kitchen set up by the first Sikh Guru Nanak over 500 years ago.
