Ludhiana: 73-year-old trader shot at in broad daylight Three miscreants opened fire at a 73-year-old trader in Field Gunj area, near Gurudwara Kalgidhar Sahib in Ludhiana on Wednesday afternoon. The trader Tarlochan Singh Chaddha suffered injuries on his leg and was rushed to Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), where his condition is stated stable. Old rivalry could be the reason behind the attack as the assailant opened fire at the trader but did not make any robbery attempt, said the police. On the other hand, family members of the victim stated that they have no rivalry with anyone. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder against unidentified accused. Police have procured a CCTV footage, in which the accused have been captured. The incident occurred at 1.55pm when the victim was sitting at his wholesale shop, Chaddha Store. A white Matuti Suzuki Swift car stopped near his shop and two persons alighted from the car and walked towards the shop, while one man kept waiting inside. The assailants opened fire without uttering a word. Police suspected that the assailants intentionally hit Tarlochan Singh on his leg, which suggested that it could be matter of rivalry and the motive of assailants was to scare the victim. -PTC News
