Manjinder Singh Sirsa Files Complaint With PS Lodhi Road Against Governing Body Of Dyal Singh College On Renaming Issue
New Delhi, November 20 : The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa today filed a complaint with PS Lodhi Road against the Governing body of the Dyal Singh College Trust Society which has taken decision to rename the colleges.
In a written filed with the police station Lodhi Road, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it has been clearly mentioned in the articles of bye laws of the trust society that it will be known as Dyal Singh College after its takeover by the Delhi University. He said that Governing body by adopting the resolution on its renaming has committed a grave illegal, constitutional and unwarranted act.
He said that no where has the situation has warranted the change of the name of the college. He said that this act of the governing body was not only illegal but has hurt the sentiments of the people of India and those settled abroad. He said that it was not understandable on the part of the Governing body why and under which circumstances it felt the necessity to change the name of the college.
Mr. Sirsa further said that Mr. Dyal Singh Majithia contributed a lot for the amelioration of condition of common man and formed trusts and established institutions for achievement of his mission of educated India. He said that it was more surprising that when the Pakistan has decided to run the college and library in his name, under which circumstances the Governing body of the Dyal Singh College was forced to rename it and try to erase the name of national legend.

Mr. Sirsa made it clear that that no circumstances the DSGMC and other Sikh bodies will allow this name change to happen. He said that politics or political parties are a separate issue, this issue is concerned with the person who selflessly contributed for the nation building and those will ulterior motives will not get success in their vested interests.
