Now, pay tax in Punjab for having domestic animals
In a new notification, issued by the state government in Punjab said that people who have domestic animals will have to pay tax now on.
According to the notice people living in Punjab and having a dog, cat, pig, sheep etc as a domestic animal will have to pay a tax of Rs 250 per year.
For those having buffalo, bull, camel, horse, cow, elephant etc at their homes, the annual tax outgo would be Rs 500.
The notice further states that a "branding code" would be allocated to each animal. A microchip will also be embedded in the animal, the government added -PTC News
