One killed, 8 injured as bus falls into gorge
Mandi (HP), Oct 12 (PTI) One person was killed and eight were injured this morning when a private bus fell into a 100-feet deep gorge in Karsog area in Mandi district, police said. The bus was on its way to Karsog from Mahunag when it fell into the gorge apparently after the driver lost control over the vehicle, Deputy SP Sanjeev Bhatia said. "There were nine people in the bus, including the driver and conductor. Vijay Singh, a resident of Bakari village, was killed in the accident," he said. The injured were admitted to the Karsog Civil Hospital from where three, whose conditions were serious, were referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, he added. The injured told police the bus was running at high speed and the driver lost control over the vehicle, Bhatia said. The driver Prem Kumar has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC, he added.
