Punjab Police Wednesday said, it had launched a manhunt in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal to trace three suspected drug lords after a drug module was busted three days ago. On June 17, police had claimed to have busted a drug syndicate with the arrest of four persons -- Davinder Singh alias Dev of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, Ajit Singh of Jaitewali village in Jalandhar, Tarlochan Singh of Jaitewali village; and Gurbax Singh of Katthe village in Hoshiarpur. Police said the interrogation of the main accused, Davinder Singh, who was remanded in police custody by the court, led the police to unravel a major network involving multiple suspects spread across various states, said a police spokesman. Punjab cops launch hunt for drug peddlers Punjab Police is coordinating with its counterparts in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal to nab the suspects, identified as Alfaz, Ghanshyam and Belal, the spokesperson said. Dev, a proclaimed offender wanted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for international drugs smuggling, was arrested by a joint team of the Counter Intelligence Wing and District Police Jalandhar Rural, along with three others, for smuggling opium and Ketamine. Police said investigations were in progress to ascertain foreign links of the smugglers. PTI
