Patiala: Amid chanting of hymns and prayers, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, along with other male members of the erstwhile royal family, collected the last mortal remains of Rajmata Mohinder Kaur this morning at the Shahi Samadhan here. Captain Amarinder’s mother, Rajmata Mohinder, was cremated at the Shahi Samadhan on Tuesday, a day after she passed away in Patiala following a prolonged illness. Capt. Amarinder collect Rajmata’s mortal remains at shahi samadhanThe family left their residence at the New Moti Bagh palace early this morning to collect the ashes of the Rajmata, with a large number of friends and ordinary citizens joining them on the way to Shahi Samadhan. At the cremation grounds, an emotional Captain Amarinder, joined by brother Malwinder Singh, son Raninder Singh and grandsons Nirvan Singh, Angad Singh, Yadhuvinder Singh and other relatives, picked up the last remains of his mother. They later offered Ardaas (prayers) in memory of the departed soul. Capt. Rajmata's grandson and chief minister's son, Raninder Singh cradled the ashes in his lap as the family, led by the chief minister, left Shahi Samadhan for Kiratpur Sahib. —PTC News
