National Democratic Alliance candidate, Ram Nath Kovind has become the new president of India. Long before the results, Ram Nath Kovind, was declared winner by Mamata Banerjee. Mr. Kovind, 71, was leading with huge margin from the opposition candidate Meira Kumar. publive-image With the huge margin of 3,34,730 votes, Kovind won the elections. His opposition's nominee Meira Kumar got 3,67,314 votes. Ram Nath Kovind Close to 100% polling was observed in the presidential election held on July 17. 4109 legislators and a total of 771 members of Parliament were eligible to cast votes. Kovind is a lawyer by profession. Kovind has worked extensively in Bihar and UP. Mr. Kovind was the SC Morcha chief (1998-2002) from the BJP.
