Rape And Molestation Accused To Lose Driving Licence, Pension In Haryana Rape and Molestation accused will now be debarred from government facilities in Haryana. Facilities like driving licence, arms license, old age pension, and pension for physically disabled persons would not be provided to the sex offenders. Ration Card facilities would be the only facility that Rape and Molestation accused would get in the state. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Thursday and said, “ The services will remain suspended till the court verdict." The Haryana government has already proposed the death penalty for those convicted of rape and murder of a minor girl below the age of 12 years. Manhohar Lal Khattar gave strict warning to the perpetrators of crime against women. He said, “Hamare yaha ek bhi behen beti ki taraf agar koi ungli uthayega to uski ungli kaat di jaayegi, aisa hum prabhand karenge (If anyone dares to point fingers at our women, their fingers will be chopped off. We will make arrangements regarding this). Khattar announced that he would be launching a comprehensive scheme either on Independence Day or on Raksha Bandhan this year. This scheme would be launched for the safety and security of women. He also announced that if a rape victim wanted to hire a lawyer other than one provided by the state government, she would receive financial assistance of 22,000 for the fees. Also, the government would set up six fast-track courts in the districts where 50 or more cases of rape and molestation are pending in the courts. -PTC News
