“My Relationship with Papa is Pure”: Honeypreet Insan in an interview
After absconding for over a month, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan may finally surrender before a court in Panchkula court today, according to reports. In an interview with a few news channel Honeypreet claimed that she was innocent. She is wanted by the police in connection with the violence that broke out in Panchkula in August the day a court there held the self-styled godman guilty on charges of rape. Honeypreet is not in police custody. We know as much about her as is shown on the TV, said Manvir Singh, DCP, Panchkula During the TV interview, Honeypreet dismissed reports questioning her relationship with the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect. She described her association with the convicted rapist as “pure”. Instead, she questioned the state of law and order in Haryana, adding that she was present at Ram Rahim’s hearing after taking due permission from the court. She claimed that her image had been maligned on media platforms, and insisted that she was involved in instigating riots in Panchkula. The Delhi High Court, on 26 September, dismissed the transit anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet Insan. Thirty five people died in the violence that broke out after Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim was held guilty by a special CBI court on 25 August. The Haryana Police arrested over 1000 people in connection with the violence in Panchkula. Six people lost their lives in the incidents of violence in Sirsa. The Dera head is currently serving a 20 years jail sentence for raping two disciples. -PTC News
