Police uses water cannon to disperse protesting Shiromani Akali Dal followers in Chandigarh on Tuesday. A protest rally was organised by the SAD-BJP against the Congress government over its alleged failure. SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday said Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is scared of the anger of the farmers as he had failed to keep the promises made to them. SAD Ghero Vidhan Sabha rally in Chandigarh, water cannon used SAD President also mentioned that the Congress government has failed to implement the farm loan waiver and has made efforts to stop subsidised power to the agricultural sector. Sukhbir said all social security pensions besides the insurance scheme for farmers has been stopped and now efforts were on to start charging them for power used in the agricultural sector. Sukhbir accused Amarinder of being "inaccessible" to people. He said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal would have been jailed had he not tendered an apology to Bikram Majithia for levelling false charges against him. He alleged that the Congress government had been unable to manage funds in Punjab. He took a dig at the CM and Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal for cribbing continuously about the state treasury being empty. Sukhbir Badal had earlier said, the SAD had resolved to take this agitation to its logical conclusion and force the government to implement a complete loan waiver scheme for farmers, farm labourers and dalits. -PTC News-
