Sampla Congratulates Badal Government For ‘Laying To Rest’ The SYL Canal

Chandigarh: Punjab BJP president, Vijay Sampla today lauded the Akali-BJP government of the state for ‘laying to rest’ the Satluj-Yamuna Link canal. In his blog Samlpa wrote, “Finally, Punjab’s Akali-BJP government today lay to rest the Satluj Yamuna Link canal. I congratulate Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his entire cabinet for taking this strong step to save Punjab’s waters”. Lashing out at PPCC chief, Capt. Amarinder Singh for ‘ditching’ the people of Punjab in this hour of crisis, Sampla said, “While the Akali-BJP coalition government of the state denotified the land acquired for the canal three decades back, and is giving back to the farmers, interesting news is doing rounds in media circles. It’s the statement of former Haryana CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is demanding President Rule in Punjab. His counterpart in Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, is also desperately hoping for a crisis-ridden situation in the state wherein all the MLAs and MPs are forced to resign from their membership and President Rule is imposed in Punjab”. Continuing his tirade against Capt. Amarinder, Sampla said, “The government shouldn’t be standing like a rock for Punjab’s interests; the history of Punjab’s continuous betrayal should gather dust; and Haryana should take away water with the help of the diktats of the courts- Amarinder’s vision is just limited to 2017 assembly polls. May be he thinks that if Punjab gets bereaved of water then the Akali-BJP government will be castigated and he might get a chance. But Hooda and Captain are oblivious of the fact India is ruled not by the enemies of Punjab, but the ones who have always stood by truth and have firmly held moral ground. That government will never abandon any state and neither will dismantle chosen governments for the sake of gaining cheap political mileage”.
