Seven Naxals shot dead in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district Seven Naxals were shot dead in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Friday in a joint operation carried out by the state police and their Telangana counterparts, an official statement confirmed. The gunfight took place in a forest near Ipenta village of the district in the morning, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg said. When the patrolling team was in Ipenta an exchange of fire broke out between the two sides. Bodies of seven ultras, including that of women, from the encounter spot were recoverd by the security forces, said Garg said. Some weapons and Maoist literature were also seized from the site, the SP said. More details were awaited. -PTC News-
