In a statement here, SGPC general secretary Amarjit Singh Chawla said the forgery was proof of the level to which AAP could stoop to woo voters. "It appears nothing is sacred for AAP, not even religion".

Mr Amarjit Chawla said by releasing the forged letter the AAP sympathisers had played with the sentiments of Sikhs. He said the release of the forged letter was the completion of the AAP conspiracy to align with hardliners, encourage them to create disturbances, blame the SAD for the same and then come out with a false and concocted letter on behalf of the Singh Sahiban censuring the SAD. He said this conspiracy would not succeed because the Sikh community had seen through AAP headman Arvind Kejriwal and understood he was an unscrupulous person who could lie and cheat to achieve his nefarious goals.  "Sikhs will give a befitting answer to these mischievous anti -Punjab elements at the hustings  tomorrow", he added.
The SGPC general secretary said it seemed even the forgery was not correct on facts. He said the name of the Takth Damdama Sahab jathedar was given as Singh Sahab Balwant Singh whereas the current jathedar was Singh Sahab Gurmukh Singh. "Even the date has been wrongly listed", he added. EOM
