Smart City Conclave at Chandigarh on 28th & 29th July
Chandigarh: Experts from across the country are converging at Chandigarh to share their insight on the making of a smart city in the Smart City Conclave, being hosted by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Chandigarh Smart City Limited. The national conference, being held on July 28-29 at JW Marriott is seeing participation from over 10 states besides participation from France, UK and Nepal. Senior IAS officers from across the country are gathering for brainstorming on various aspects of smart city initiative of the Government of India which is one of the most ambitious programmes rolled out by the Ministry of Urban Development. The subjects that will be covered exhaustively range from leveraging technology for smart infrastructure, smart healthcare and education, international experience of smart cities, smart mobility to smart and incredible India. The Smart City Conclave will be inaugurated by Sh VP Singh Badnore, Honb’le Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator with Mrs. Kirron Kher, Honb’le Member Parliament, UT, Chandigarh as the Guest of Honour and will be attended by top officials of Chandigarh including Sh Parimal Rai, Advisor UT, Home Secretary Anurag Aggarwal , Mayor Chandigarh Smt. Asha Jaswal and Municipal Commissioner B. Purushartha. The conference will have a healthy representation from the industry which will present smart city solutions that are evolving by the day. An expo is part of the conference where industry will showcase its latest smart city solutions like smart meters, smart lighting, software solutions and citizen centric services. Bureaucrats from over 10 states, from as far as Assam, Goa, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, are getting together for knowledge sharing. Municipal commissioners from more than five cities, including Amravati, Dharamshala, Shimla, Jallandhar, will be participating to discuss about effective ways for implementing the smart city project. The national conference Smart City Conclave is being co-hosted by Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd which specializes in the smart city domain besides education and health. This is the 20th smart city conference that is being hosted in Chandigarh. One of the key highlights of the Conclave will be the Mayor’s conclave which will see participation of 7 mayors across the country, including those from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chattisgarh and Punjab. The challenges that public representatives face in implementing the smart city project will be discussed in the panel discussion headed by the Chandigarh Mayor Smt. Asha Jaswal. —PTC News
