Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has landed himself in a controversy after expressing his opinion on homosexuality at an event in Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

When a student asked Sri Sri as to how he should handle the way his friends and family treated him for his sexual orientation, the spiritual leader said, "You don't think you are sick or something is wrong with you. If you stand up, nobody can insult you, but...if you feel bad about yourself, nobody can make you feel better."

"This is your tendency now...know that this tendency is not a permanent thing. It may change. I've seen many men who were gay later turn into heterosexuals, and there are those who are normal, who are called straight people, end up being gay later in life," he told the student.

The comments, apparently, haven't gone down too well with film actress Sonam Kapoor who took to the social media to bash the founder of Art of Living Foundation. While she called him a "MORON" in one of her Instagram stories, she wrote off his opinion in a series of tweets saying that it was "irresponsible" to make such comments.
