Sukhbir tells party men to be vigilant against any 'hooliganism' during municipal corporation elections
Sukhbir Singh Badal , President , Shiromani Akali Dal said that SAD would not let Congress goons come out to spread hooliganism in coming municipal corporation elections in Ludhiana: Sukhbir was speaking in a meeting of councillors and former councillors of Ludhiana at the party office yesterday evening.
The president of SAD asked the party men to form committees to keep a check on Congress goons so that the incidents of booth capturing could not take place in any case. He said that discipline was of utmost important and strict action would be taken against anyone who will break the order.
Badal constituted a four member committee including senior leaders Balwinder Singh Bhundur, Sikander Singh Maluka, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon . Daljit Singh Cheema will hold talks with the BJP to finalise ticket sharing between both alliance partners. The committee will also recommend party candidates for the election.
The SAD has also decided to form a central office in Ludhiana for the corporation election. Former minister Maheshinder Singh Grewal and senior Ludhina leader Jeewan Dhawan will be looking after all this . Hira Singh Gabria, Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria, Prem Mittal and Harbhajan Singh Tang were present in the meeting .
