I-T raid continues at Rana Gurjit's Chandigarh Office, colleagues and officials under radat

The Income Tax department on Saturday continued the ongoing raid on the offices of Rana Group of Companies, owned by the family of former Punjab minister Rana Gurjit in Sector 8, Chandigarh. About 10 to 15 officials of the Income Tax department are present in the sector 8 office. Colleagues and officers related to Rana Gurjit also under the radar of Income Tax officials. The raid had begun on Friday morning at 8.30 am. The raid is conducted from the Ludhiana, Ferozepur, Panchkula officials of the Income Tax Department. The colleagues and partners of Rana Gurjit are also under the radar of the Income Tax Department. As per official reports, another raid is being conducted in the Sector 17, Chandigarh, Rana Gurjit’s CA office. The I-T officials are investigating the office along with the cloning of the hard disks of Rana Gurjit's office. The alleged involvement of Rana Gurjit Singh in the alleged fraud in the sand mining case has made headlines lately, as a result of which the minister had given his resignation to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, as the Minister of Power and Irrigation.  Punjab Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh stepped down from his post in January. “Yes, I have resigned. Now, it is up to the Chief Minister and the party high command to take further action. In fact, I had resigned earlier also when my name was dragged into the sand mine auction controversy,” Rana Gurjit Singh said in the statement earlier. -PTC News
