Uncle found guilty of raping 10 YO girl in Chandigarh
Two men have been found guilty for having raped their 10-year-old niece in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The men have been held guilty of rape under Section 376 (2) (f) (i) (n) of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO), and will be sentenced on Thursday. The victim had a baby in August after Supreme Court denied her permission to abort the child because of advanced pregnancy The victim told police that the older of the two men raped her Christmas of 2016 and April 2017, and the other man — the person who impregnated her — raped her later. The second uncle was arrested in October after the infant’s DNA matched his. The child was 32-weeks pregnant when she approached the Supreme Court for abortion. -PTC News
