UP: Rape victim reaches police station with foetus in bag A 19-year-old girl showed up at Hasanpur Kotwali of district Amroha on Saturday evening carrying her aborted foetus in a bag. She demanded action against a man who lives in her neighbourhood, who raped her and then forced her to abort the baby. Both the woman and the man are Dalits. The accused is a 22-year-old man who was identified as Manoj, police said. “We have registered a case on complaint of girl’s family and raids were being conducted to arrest the accused,” said Ajay Kumar, circle officer of Hasanpur. The foetus has been sent to a forensic lab for examination, he said. The victim who went to the Hasanpur Kotwali with her mother, told the police that the accused had raped her at gunpoint five months ago. The accused also gave her some medicine for abortion on July 13. Her condition deteriorated after she took those medicines. Family members came to know about the entire incident after she had aborted. Her mother then took her to police station on Saturday evening where she lodged a complaint against the accused and demanded justice for her daughter. -PTC News
