Each district would get 30 to 35 vehicles and Rs 153 crore would be spent for the scheme. Khattar, after inaugurating eight 'Mitra Kaksh', aimed at developing coordination among the people and the police, at Civil Lines Police Station in Karnal, said his government was working at providing a "fearless environment" in the state. He said these eight 'Mitra Kaksh' have been set up at a cost of around Rs two crore. The chief minister said members of community liaison group and police personnel without uniform would sit in these 'Mitra Kakshs' to listen to the grievances of the people. If a grievance could not be resolved through mediation, then FIR would be registered, Khattar said, adding in the first phase, eight 'Mitra Kaksh' each in Karnal and Rohtak districts were being set up. If the system runs successfully, it would be implemented throughout the state, he said. Earlier, Khattar inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various developmental projects costing Rs 45.50 crore in Karnal district. Redressing the grievances of people at 'Janta Darbar' in Karnal, Khattar said survey of unauthorised colonies was being conducted and a decision to regularise such colonies would be taken on the basis of the survey report.
