11 people died in accident in Kupwara after passenger cab fell into deep gorge
Kupwara: Eleven persons, including a child and three women, died in a road accident in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday evening. A police official said a sumo passenger cab (JK01C-7385)—on way from Karnah to Kupwara—fell into a 500-feet deep gorge at Sadhna Top after the driver lost control over the vehicle at around 7:30 pm. All 11 passengers, including the driver, died on the spot as the vehicle rolled down the valley striking with rocks, from a hilly and mountainous road, the police official said. The accident, he said, occurred near Neelam Curve on 11000-ft high Sadhna Pass, some 40 kms from Kupwara. All the deceased reportedly hail from Karnah.
