16 people, including 4 cops injured in grenade attack in J-K’s Shopian 12 civilians and four policemen were injured after a grenade at security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian, police said on Monday. “Militants today afternoon lobbed a grenade at Shopian in Batapora area which exploded inflicting injuries to several civilians and few policemen. The grenade exploded along the roadside amid the civilian population,” a police spokesperson said. “A young girl has received critical injuries in this explosion,” he said. Police also fired some shorts in the air and the area was cordoned by security personnel. Several attacks have been reported during the holy Muslim month when the security forces have suspended operations against militants in Kashmir. -PTC News
