DSGMC) General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa today asked Leader of Opposition in Punjab Mr. HS Phooka to stop drama of resigning as LOP for taking up cases of 1984 anti sikh riot victims as his resignation will not give a single benefit to the victims and their families. He said that instead Mr. Phoolka should persuade his own party Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to start work for welfare of these families. (1984 riot victims)
Government flats and houses
In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sirsa said that if the AAP party is sincere to help the victims and their families then the government should immediately provide jobs to one member per family of these victims. He said that besides this measure, provision of reservation of seats for these victims should be taken on priority and they should be given ownership rights of the government flats and houses that were allotted to them. He also said that besides giving these rights the government should immediately start repair and renovation of these houses which were in pathetic conditions.
Special Investigation Team (SIT)
Lashing out at AAP leadership, Mr. Sirsa said that their sincerity is also before that public on the issue of Special Investigation Team (SIT) they constituted for afresh investigation of these riots. He said that not a single step has been taken on the issue of SIT by Kejriwal government. He said that leave apart taking action against the guilty, Mr. Kejriwal was found in the company of the culprits including Jagdish Tytler. He also said that had AAP party and their government been serious on taking up steps for welfare of these families, they would have brought resolution in Delhi Assembly declaring November 1st as Black day. Additionally, he said that though he had written to Mr. Kejriwal on the issue but he showed no sincerity towards the issue.
LOP in Punjab
Mr. Sirsa asked Mr. Phoolka, who has declared his intention to quit as LOP in Punjab for taking up cases of the riot victims, that if he is serious enough to get justice for them, he should first persuade his own party leader and Delhi CM Mr. Kejriwal to take immediate steps to help these families on preferential basis. In addition to this, he said that even after enjoying long spell of power he is least cared about the wellbeing of these families. He said that Mr. Kejriwal who had promised moon to these victims during the recent concluded Punjab Assembly elections, chose to remain silent on fulfilling his poll promises for welfare of these victim families after being rejected by the Punjab masses. Furthermore, the DSGMC General Secretary said that as is old saying that charity and reforms begin at home, Mr. Phoolka should take up these matters with their own government in Delhi and ensure the best within the minimum time frame, if they are sincere towards their words. —PTC News-
