A day after the Punjab government sought his conviction in a road rage case, state's minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he would submit to the majesty of the law. "I don't have any reactions, you submit to the majesty of the law," Sidhu said while addressing a press conference. On Thursday, the Punjab government told Supreme Court that the statement given by Navjot Sidhu denying his involvement in the case was false. The trial court had acquitted Sidhu, whereas the Punjab and Haryana High Courtreversed his acquittal, convicting him under Section 304 Part II, Indian Penal Code (IPC), for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. 1988 road rage case: Navjot Sidhu says will submit to the law The lawyer appearing for the Punjab government told Supreme Court that the statement given by Sidhu denying his involvement in the case was false. Counsel for Punjab government yesterday told a bench of Justices J Chelameswar and Sanjay Kishan Kaul that Gurnam Singh had died of brain hemorrhage, and not cardiac arrest, after being struck by Sidhu. Back on December 27, 1988, when Sidhu allegedly hit one Gurnam Singh, 65, in an incident of road rage in Patiala, Punjab, resulting in death of the latter. -PTC News
