2 youths killed in accident in Sonepat
Two youths were killed and two others were seriously injured after their car collided with a truck on National Highway -44 near Pio Maniari in Sonepat on Monday morning. Two youths Jatin (23) and his friend Gopal (22) died on the spot.

The victims were coming to a Murthal dhaba for breakfast at around 4 am after celebrating Lohri. The car in which they were travelling collided with the truck killing 2 and injuring 2 others. The truck driver fled from the scene and abandoned his truck.

The police reached the spot. It took nearly an hour to extract the dead bodies from underneath the truck. The police took help of a crane. The injured identified as Amit and Hemant were rushed to the Civil Hospital. The injured were referred to PGIMS in Rohtak after preliminary treatment.

The police handed over the bodies of the deceased to their families after conducting a post-mortem. A case has been registered in the Kundli police station against the truck driver. The police has impounded the truck.
